With more than 1,000 prisons in the United States, Texas is a prime destination for prisons.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics, there are 1,058,700 inmates in state prisons, compared to 1,024,000 in private prisons.

There are about 1,100,000 inmates in private facilities, compared with nearly 800,000 there.

So which states are the most vulnerable to being hit by an inmate re-incarceration wave?
